Is that you?

Freedom. Intentionality. Elegance.

Good morning to you!
Hope this email finds you in a good mood and shape.

πŸ‘‹ For the new comers, hello and welcome! Our mission here: we want to help people free themselves from rampant consumerism, so that they can dedicate more time, money and bandwidth to be and build. πŸ‘‰ We want to help you be highly intentional with what you buy.

A new lockdown.

2021 started on fire, offering us a whole set of challenges to test our resilience: a new lockdown, kindergartens closing for at least two weeks, the living room turned into an obstacle course, crushed biscuits all over the place, our calendars split into slots of intense work and intense care. To all the parents out there, we feel you. ✊

Lockdown is also a great opportunity to come face to face with our possessions.

  • while I had acquired ~20 items a month in average over the past 6 months (with a clear exception in December, hitting 52), I brought in only 2 in January. And knowing that, damn, I feel light(er) and in control [deep breath].

  • we have lots of books (like some of you maybe) but decided to only keep those matching the following :

    • I loved it AND want to read it again someday

    • I want my kid, best friend or any visitor to trust that any piece of paper out there is worth reading

  • [notes from a previous NWL] a major side effect of discarding is to create confidence in your decision-making capacity after making thousands of decisions, holding in your hands every single item. After all, if you keep only the things that spark joy to you, what’s left after this process is the closest picture of your true, happy self.

What Objet is all about.

Freedom. You own the decision-making process.
Intentionality. Only purchase things that will make your life 10x better.
Elegance. Create an inspiring environment to thrive.

We host weekly get-together in our Discord, we’re still figuring out what is the best moment. Next will happen on Sunday, 4pm GMT.

Each time, we’re starting around a specific piece of content / question.
Next Sunday πŸ‘‰ How do you currently bring intentionality to your purchases? Bring an object you’re particularly proud about.

If you’d like to be a part of this smart, intentional crew, here’s how!

What’s new inπŸ’‘ the library

🧱 Well well. Due to the above (limited time alone to read), this section is pretty empty this week. Mostly listened to podcasts not worth sharing, unfortunately.

Our library is collaborative, so please don’t be shy and recommend the great content you’ve digested recently!

Have a beautiful week ahead,
