Hello you, it’s been a while. Two very quick notes today, one for each side of the Atlantic ❤️ And some cool reads, too.

🇫🇷 We are organising our very first gathering in Paris next Wednesday at the Book Bar of Hotel Grand Amour. We call it Cet objet là. If you live in Paris, if you happen to be in town, if you’d like to fly or take a train to meet me - blushing😽 - well, let’s do this!
An event where the one thing people have in common : sharing the story of a cherished object (that they have brought along).
West-side
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving 🥂🍗 I hope that you’re surrounded by people you love. I hope you’re in silent mode - and thus you won’t read me before next week. I hope that today doesn’t exactly ressemble The Fishes episode from The Bear (a particularly stressing moment happening in the kitchen on a festive day).
Remember to drink water. Also, maybe being drunk is a good time to go hide that credit card of yours somewhere-you-won’t-remember tomorrow. Just tomorrow. Or maybe til Tuesday. Anyway. Keep being intentional. Always. Peace. We believe in you. You can do it. Love.
Cool reads.
If you’re on neither side of the Atlantic - this happens to really cool people - maybe you’ll just enjoy a couple cool reads.
💎 relationship human <> objects
if there was only 1 piece to read this week, make it this one. It's all about coming into communion with an object and forming a relationship together. Very Objet-ish:
🛍 internet = shopping mall?
what a surprise to see Vox make a whole page titles 'Buy less stuff. How and why to stop shopping for more than you need — or even want.' -- we can only encourage you to go through all the articles; they're very well written. Personal favorite being: The lie of deinfluencing.
👟 huge Veja fans here
like, for a long long time. So reading - again - about them and their story is always a pleasure:
👖 finding one’s style
this an amazing post about clothing brands and what it means to find your style. which might be the most 'sustainable thing' one can do - since you won't feel out-of-trend anytime soon - :
Wait, who are you again?
Fair. If you’re new here, welcome 👋 We are Max, Kev and Mat. We’re building a network for object lovers, a place to save the stories of your cherished objects - your memories - for eternity.
Objet is the french word for 'object' and should be pronounced 'ob-jeh‘. In this journal, we explore the intersection of desire, taste, joy, meaning and culture. Well, not so much today, but usually. If you’d like to embark on a journey with us, make sure to
and we’ll be in touch.
Always hit reply to send us a note, we love reading you.
Good vibes et bisous.
