Hello dear all, how much I’ve missed you!
I know, I know, it’s been way too long since our last encounter, back in… March?
You might even need a reminder of who I am, of who we are… shit, do you?!
Let me give you three hints.
Hint#1. About intentional buying and freedom
Hint#2. 8+ years of failures and success together
Hint#3. Paris + Lisbon = Lyon (what?)
If you reeeeally can’t recall, you can opt out now. Bye Felicia. Or else see what these cute weirdos 👇 are building and learning over time.
Anyhow, we are excited to be reunited, excited to be back on Substack, excited with the energy of a new year. That’s a lot of excitement.
We wish you a beautiful 2022, blissful moments with your loved ones as well as exciting new encounters. Leave space for serendipity, make some for intentionality!
About Objet
Objet is a mobile app that helps you build your collection of possessions, so that you can train the skill of knowing what you want and need. Ultimately, be at peace with what you have.
Look back on 2021
we led hundreds of on-boarding interviews
we built and rebuilt our mobile app following our roadmap and your feedback
we raised money from top notch business angels - thanks for your trust 🙏
we launched our web app - yes, you can now use Objet from desktop
we tactically moved in the same city, after two years split apart
AND, less visible but nonetheless life-changing:
Kev and I gave birth to our second little boy, and we are SO proud
Kev and I moved out of Lisbon with two very young kids ; Max moved out of Paris with two very nice bikes
we now live 11-minutes walking distance from each other’s place, boom 💥
While I was breastfeeding and organizing our move some 1,000 miles away1, Max & Kev took over product, and calls. I am proud of our team. And in this particular moment of the year, I can only wish you to find yourself your Max & Kev if you haven’t already.
I won’t sweeten the truth, it’s been a hell of a freaking ride to make all these bullet points above fit in just twelve months of time, but folks, we’re here in one piece, stronger than ever. Closing chapter one, opening chapter two.
Rolling up our sleeves to tackle one of the main challenges of our century: rampant consumerism. Together, we’re gonna be learning new skills:
- kiss goodbye to superfluous
- tame compulsive buying
- spend, but spend better
Think that’s for you? Well, I’ll see you next week with a brand new format! 👋
Have a beautiful day,
Mathilde
More about our move and how we dealt with objects in a coming newsletter. I kind of documented pretty much everything #freak
